动脉粥样硬化模型
大量研究采用鹌鹑(quail)研究动脉粥样硬化和用于动脉粥样硬化模型复制。研究中多采用日本鹌鹑。
鹌鹑作为人类动脉粥样硬化模型动物,具有以下方面的表现:
(1)鹌鹑的血浆胆固醇浓度对饲料中胆固醇很敏感;
(2)模型饲料引起的血浆胆固醇升高,主要是在LDL和VLDL;
(3)血浆胆固醇浓度升高与动脉粥样硬化的严重程度关联。
(4)动脉粥样硬化斑块形成类似人类动脉粥样硬化的高级阶段,包括内膜增厚、水肿、坏死、肥厚,动脉狭窄,梗死。
(5)动脉粥样硬化模型的重复性好。
鹌鹑动脉粥样硬化模型饲料包括:高脂高胆固醇模型饲料,高胆固醇模型饲料。右图是鹌鹑动脉粥样硬化模型发展程度与血浆胆固醇的关系。因此,鹌鹑的动脉粥样硬化最为关键的是血浆胆固醇浓度,只要升高血浆胆固醇,动脉粥样硬化发展只是迟早的事。
从图中可以看到,鹌鹑的动脉粥样硬化发展程度与血浆胆固醇浓度成正比。因此,选用高胆固醇模型饲料时,如果希望成模更快,应当选择胆固醇含量较高的模型饲料。
但是,模型饲料中胆固醇含量较高时,血浆胆固醇浓度过高,可能引起动物摄食量降低。
